The Australasian Division of the International Academy of Pathology Limited is looking to financially support up to four anatomical pathologists who would otherwise not be able to attend this meeting. The meeting will be held in Sydney from Friday June 1st to Sunday June 3rd, 2012 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia.

The meeting includes extensive lectures and slide seminars by three overseas speakers:

  • Professor Stacey M. Mills, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, USA
    Topic - ORAL, HEAD & NECK.
     
  • Professor Elaine S. Jaffe, George Washington University, Washington, USA
    Topic - LYMPHOMA
     
  • Professor Keith M. Kerr, University of Aberdeen, Scotland
    Topic - LUNG

There are also fifteen companion meetings covering a wide range of subjects, posters and a trade exhibition. Details are available on the website: www.iap-aus.org.au

Supported pathologists would also have the opportunity to visit a pathology laboratory in Australia over a week before or after the meeting.

The supported pathologists will have airfares, registration for the meeting, accommodation and reasonable living expenses paid for by the Division. The Division will arrange flights and accommodation.

Preference will be given to pathologists working in relative isolation who do not normally have the opportunity to attend conferences. Preference will also be given to pathologists working in the South Pacific area.

Applications from interested pathologists should be emailed to Mrs Jan McLean and include a curriculum vitae and a letter outlining the benefit to be gained by the pathologist in attending the conference.

Any application should reach the above email address by February 28th. Applications will be considered by the Executive of the Australasian Division of the IAP and a decision made re the successful applicants before April 1st, 2012.
